A modular home is a prefabricated home – a home created offsite. Modular construction dates back to Roman days when prefabricated fort sections were mass produced and delivered to remote locations.

Offsite construction allows high quality builds to be delivered all over Australia including areas that do not have high skilled construction tradies available, and protects buyers and owner builders from weather affected construction time tables. The methods used in designing our homes, continues into the factory production line with faultless material preparation which in turn results in minimum waste as well as a reduced use of energy in the process.

Subject to design and specific site constraints, a modular home can be delivered approximately 4 months from the moment layouts, finishes and fixtures have been selected, signed off and deposits paid.

Modular construction often requires the majority or entirety of payment upfront. However, we have partnered with finance teams in order to ensure more flexible payment terms can be made available. A consultation can be arranged to explore your finance options and to assist you in purchasing your modular home.

If a planning permit application is required for your property, our 6homes team of planners are ready to assist you throughout the process. And in some cases, all you will need is a building permit. Our team can advise on this too!

Yes, absolutely. We understand that our standard layouts may not be suitable for all our clients. For those that want a customisable option; our dedicated team of professionals are ready to assist you. Please note there is an additional fee to customise the home.

Delivery methods will depend on your site’s specific constraints. These aspects are reviewed in the early stages to ensure that a modular home is truly an option for you. We can assist with the logistics/transportation if required.

Unless you have your own installation team or you are an owner builder, 6homes have a professional installation partner available. They can carry out all works required including foundations to ensure your brand new modular home can be installed when ready to deliver. Installation methods will differ from site to site as soil types, accessibility, connection details are considered. However, once your modular arrives to site it can be ready for use within a week!

The modules arrive at the port with oven, stove, dishwasher and all internals completed. There is a built-in roof and down pipes on the modules. The installation team will join the modules on-site, removing any temporary walls that may be in place for transportation.

We have a partner that looks after this for you. You can select your own Building Surveyor / Certifier and they will process all of the administrative works for you. Including follow-up and communications with the Council.
